Hardwood, vinyl plank, tile, laminate, stair treads, and repair — installed by a local crew you can call directly. Free estimate within 24 hours.
Palmetto is a small but rapidly growing waterfront city of roughly 13,000 residents, located on the north side of the Manatee River directly across from Bradenton. As the headquarters of Triangle Flooring, this is our home market — we've completed more projects here than in any other city. Palmetto's mix of older waterfront homes, new master-planned communities (Artisan Lakes, Esplanade at Artisan Lakes), and the rapidly developing Riviera Dunes area drives diverse flooring needs. Many Palmetto homes are second residences for snowbirds, who require flooring that handles 6-month closures and humidity spikes.
Triangle Flooring has installed flooring in 14+ neighborhoods across Palmetto, including Historic Downtown Palmetto, Snead Island, Terra Ceia, Riviera Dunes, Sanctuary Cove, Heron Creek, and many others. From small repair jobs to full-home reflooring projects, we bring the same crew, the same standards, and the same 42-Point Standard to every install — whether you're in a 1950s historic home or a brand-new luxury build.
Local landmarks we work near regularly include Riviera Dunes Marina, Snead Island, Emerson Point Preserve, Manatee River, Sutton Park. Our team is based in Palmetto, FL, and we typically respond to Palmetto estimate requests within 24 hours.

We're based in Palmetto, so this is the housing we know best, and it isn't a typical new-build suburb. Census estimates (ACS 2020-2024) show 31% of Palmetto's 7,113 housing units are mobile homes, 34% are single-family detached houses and 24% are in buildings with five or more units. Median year built is 1983, 46% of homes predate 1980, and 26% were built in 2000 or later. Each of those groups needs a different floor.
A manufactured home's floor is a wood-based deck over a steel frame, not a concrete slab, and in Palmetto that changes the plan more than anywhere else we work. We walk the floor for soft spots first, especially at the bathroom, water heater, kitchen sink and exterior doors, because new planks over a spongy deck flex and open at the joints. Damaged decking gets cut out and replaced before anything goes down. Floating vinyl plank in Palmetto is light and tolerates slight movement, which is why we usually suggest it here; heavy tile needs a stiffer floor than many of these homes have.
Palmetto's pre-1980 houses can hide two or three generations of flooring. Before quoting, we lift a corner to see what's underneath and tap old tile to see whether it's still bonded. Removing tile from a slab makes silica dust; OSHA's rule for chipping tools calls for water at the point of impact or a shrouded tool with a vacuum, plus HEPA or wet cleanup. If original wood survives under carpet, hardwood work in Palmetto can mean sanding and refinishing instead of replacement. Anything beyond floor covering, such as moving a toilet, adding heated floors or replacing structural framing, involves plumbing, electrical or structural work that the state's $7,500 exemption excludes, so call the Building Department and confirm for your address.
Riviera Dunes was redeveloped in 1998 on a former dolomite mine site as a marina community with townhouses and homes, and nearly a quarter of Palmetto housing is in larger buildings. In any stacked unit, two things come before product choice: the Florida Building Code minimum of IIC 50 and STC 50 between units, and your association's written approval. Our condo sound rules guide covers what boards typically ask for.
Palmetto sits on the Manatee River across from Bradenton, and Helene showed how exposed the shoreline is. In September 2024, coastal Manatee County saw water 4–7 ft above mean higher high water, with a record 6.04 ft at the Port Manatee gauge, and more than 300 residents and visitors were rescued or evacuated from Anna Maria Island, Palmetto and unincorporated Manatee County.
Two dates matter for Palmetto flood repairs. The City's flood map (FIRM) was last revised August 10, 2021, and buildings completed before September 2, 1981 are "Pre-FIRM." If a flood-zone home is substantially improved or damaged, meaning the work reaches 50% of the structure's market value (the City estimates it from the Manatee County tax assessment, land excluded), it must be elevated to BFE + 1 ft or the Design Flood Elevation, whichever is higher. Tiling and wall-to-wall carpet over the subfloor count toward that 50%.
In a slab home in a flood-prone part of Palmetto, mortar-set porcelain or ceramic tile is the floor most likely to come back after water. Read our flood-zone flooring post, and confirm for your address with the City Building Department at (941) 721-2166.
The Palmetto flooring market is crowded — big-box stores, national chains, handymen, and dozens of installation companies all compete for your business. Here's why locals consistently choose us:
The installer who measures your Palmetto home is the same installer who finishes the last baseboard. No subcontractor handoffs. No quality drop-off mid-project. Most contractors in this market sub out their work to the cheapest available crew — we don't, and the difference shows in every install.
Generic national install protocols don't account for Manatee County's 70-85% summer humidity, salt-air exposure (in coastal neighborhoods), or the dimensional movement of materials between AC-cooled interiors and Florida summers. Our 42-Point Standard was built specifically for the conditions we work in here.
Every Palmetto quote we provide includes itemized line items: material cost, labor cost, removal/disposal, subfloor prep, transition strips, baseboards, waste percentage. No surprise upcharges mid-project. The number on your contract is the number on your final invoice.
If anything goes wrong with your Palmetto install — at the time of installation or in the year that follows — you call our owner directly, not a corporate hotline. That's the difference between a local owner-operated business and a faceless flooring chain. Most of our work in Palmetto comes from referrals because of how we handle problems when (rarely) they come up.
Six verified Google reviews, all 5 stars. Three hundred plus projects completed across Tampa Bay. Insured. Same-day response, 7 days a week. We're not the biggest flooring company in Palmetto — but we're the most responsive, the most transparent, and (we believe) the most carefully run.
It varies by neighborhood and home type. In waterfront and beach areas, luxury vinyl plank (LVP/SPC) dominates because of moisture resistance. In newer inland communities, engineered hardwood (especially wide-plank European white oak) is the preferred premium choice. Large-format porcelain tile is increasingly popular in kitchens, baths, and entryways across Palmetto. We can recommend the right material for your specific home during a free consultation.
For most Palmetto projects, we can begin work within 1-2 weeks of contract signing. Smaller projects (single rooms, repairs, stair treads) can often start within days. Larger custom projects (herringbone hardwood, full-home installations) may require 2-4 weeks of lead time for material acclimation and crew scheduling.
We haven't found a published City of Palmetto list that covers floor covering, and the City's own advice is to call the Building Department at (941) 721-2166 when you're unsure. Since July 2026, state law (HB 803) lets a single-family owner request a written exemption for work under $7,500, but not for a property partly or entirely in a flood hazard area. Unincorporated 34221 addresses follow Manatee County's rules instead, so confirm for your address.
Vinyl plank, yes; tile only where the floor is stiff enough. Manufactured homes have a wood-based deck, so we check for soft spots around the bath, water heater and doors and replace damaged decking first. Floating rigid-core vinyl handles slight flex, while tile adds weight and cracks if the floor moves.
It can. Buildings completed before September 2, 1981 are Pre-FIRM in Palmetto, and if one sits in a flood zone and the work reaches 50% of the structure's assessed value, the City requires elevating it to BFE + 1 ft or the Design Flood Elevation. New tile and wall-to-wall carpet count toward that total, so price the flooring in the same estimate as the rest of the repair.
Our address is 8737 Royal Acacia Ave, Palmetto, FL 34221, so Palmetto jobs are the shortest trip we make. Estimates here are free like everywhere else, and Bradenton and Ellenton are each only a few miles away.
